About the project

The EmpowerHER project aims to address the issue of gender imbalance in entrepreneurship, particularly among girls aged 16-21 yrs old from vulnerable groups and to utilize effectively the non-working time of schools (on average 16 weeks per year) through SETTING UP ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUMMER BOOTCAMPS and by providing a VIRTUAL REALITY ESCAPE ROOM GAME that will support them in enriching their entrepreneurial competences and inspire them to pursue a career in entrepreneurship.

  • One of the EU priorities has been the development and promotion of entrepreneurial education even if in some countries, entrepreneurial competences are not yet incorporated into school curricula.
  • Transversal skills such as entrepreneurship are critical to tackle youth unemployment, economic crises and gender equality.
  • Youth entrepreneurship is high on the EU political agenda as a method for combating youth unemployment and social exclusion while also encouraging young people to innovate.
  • The number of female entrepreneurs still remains disproportionately low in comparison to males
